SWIM WITH WHALE SHARKS IN THE SEA OF CORTEZ
While these majestic creatures are called sharks, they feed on plankton and small fish, and so they are safe to swim with. However, it’s still best to give them some space as the fish are often 22 to 32 feet long and their tails can be dangerous. You may see a handful of sharks during your swim and even though it may be tempting to touch the fish, it could leave them at risk of life threatening infections.
Casa Tara Retreat works with certified staff in La Paz to make it possible for you to either swim or view the magnificent creatures from the boat. However you choose to view these animals, you won’t forget the experience. During the trip, you may also see a variety of other wildlife, including humpback whales, sea lions, dolphins, rays, birds, and more.
